The healthcare professional determines when a test is initiated. The participant does not know the timing in advance. Only when the digital request is received does a defined time window for completing the procedure begin. This keeps testing unannounced – out of the blue – while maintaining a clearly structured process.

1. Initial Setup with a Healthcare Professional

The participant meets with a healthcare professional for the initial setup. The smartphone is securely paired with the professional's tablet, establishing the connection for future testing requests and documentation.

2. Receive Individually Coded Markers

The participant receives one or more individually coded, single-use markers. Each marker has a unique identifier and can only be used once.

3. Initiate the Test

The healthcare professional sets the timing and the time window. The test request is sent at the designated time. No advance notice. No scheduled testing appointment.

4. Establish Unique Attribution

The individual, the testing request and the unique single-use marker are digitally linked.

5. Document Marker Intake

The participant takes the marker independently. The app securely documents marker intake – not specimen collection. This model of an authorized request, a defined time window and digital documentation also reflects the structure of the RUMA workplace testing workflow.

6. Collect the Specimen

After the required waiting period, the specimen is collected without direct observation.

7. Verify

The documented marker intake is professionally reviewed. The laboratory confirms the individual marker and analyzes the requested substances.
